About Youthful Inspirations Inc.

In 1998 Darlene Walker founded Youthful Inspirations, Inc., a journalism program for youth. Through the program she was inspired by the youth to create a newsletter which later evolved into VOICES magazine. YI Inc. is an innovative, educational, enrichment program that creates a positive impact on its participants. It exposes students ages 6 to 16, (grades 1st–8th) to basic journalism skills. The program includes both academic and social components designed to enrich the lives of its participants. Students enrolled in the Youthful Inspirations Enrichment Program become reporters for the VOICES magazine. These reporters interview many celebrities, politicians, athletes, and community leaders which increases the popularity of the magazine and attracts a large audience. About VOICES

VOICES is a new and innovative children’s magazine created by children ages 6 to 16 from Baltimore, New York, and Philadelphia. It includes their articles, interviews, creative writing, artwork, and opinions on a wide array of topics. Although it is created by children, it is enjoyed by both children and adults.
